Police Arrest Three for Human Trafficking, Rescue Two Teenage Girls

The Nigerian Police Force(NPA) Lagos Command has arrested three suspects involved in an alleged human trafficking operation and successfully rescued two teenage girls who were being trafficked to Libya for prostitution.
Police sources confirmed to Zagazola Makama that at 8:20 AM on March 7, officers of a tactical team based in Amuwo-Odofin received credible intelligence about the illegal movement of two underage girls via Kano State.
Acting on the tip-off, a team of special operatives intercepted the traffickers at Bokori Park, Kano State, where the victims, Ikimot Moruf (17 years old) and Rodiot Jelili (15 years old), were rescued unharmed.
Following the interception, three suspects were tracked and arrested in their hideout at No. 12/22 Akintunde Street, Alakuko, Lagos. The suspects were identified as: Yakubu Arise, Kalimot Moruf and Musilyat Balogun 54 years old.
The victims have been debriefed and reunited with their families, while efforts are ongoing to apprehend other fleeing suspects.

Troops of Sector 1, Operation Enduring Peace (OPEP), have launched a manhunt for suspected kidnappers following the abduction of a 43-year-old man, Mr Philip Azarachi, at his residence in Agingi village, Bassa Local Government Area of Plateau State.
The incident occurred at about 8:43 p.m. on Sept. 24, when troops responded to a report of the abduction.
Following the report, the troops immediately laid an ambush and manned possible escape routes used by the criminals in an effort to intercept them.
However, no contact was established with the kidnappers.
Security sources said efforts were ongoing to track the abductors and secure the safe rescue of the victim.
Troops have also intensified surveillance and patrols within the area as part of measures to prevent the kidnappers from escaping with the victim.

Troops intercept female ISWAP family member fleeing terrorist enclave in Gwoza

Troops of the Nigerian Army have intercepted a female family member of an Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) terrorist along the Gwoza–Limankara road in Gwoza Local Government Area of Borno State.
Security sources told Zagazola Makama that the woman was intercepted at about 4:51 p.m. on Sept. 24, 2026, by troops of 192 Battalion (Motorised) operating in the area.
Preliminary investigation revealed that the woman escaped from a terrorist enclave in Chikide, located within the Mandara Mountains, before being intercepted by the troops.
She is currently in military custody for further investigation and screening to establish her identity, circumstances surrounding her escape and any information that could assist ongoing counter-terrorism operations in the area.

Troops arrest suspected ISWAP collaborator, recover ₦296,000 in Yobe

Troops of Operation HADIN KAI have arrested a suspected Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) terrorist collaborator at Geidam Market in Geidam Local Government Area of Yobe State.
Security sources told Zagazola Makama that the suspect was apprehended at about 2:30 p.m. on Sept. 23, 2026, by troops of 159 Task Force Battalion, in collaboration with personnel of the Nigerian Forest Guards.
The suspect was arrested following security operations at the market, during which the troops recovered one mobile phone and the sum of ₦296,000 in cash.
The suspect and the recovered items are currently in military custody for further investigation and necessary action.
Security sources said the investigation would help determine the suspect’s alleged links with ISWAP and establish the source and intended use of the recovered funds.
