Police arrest three terror suspects, recover arms in Imo

The Police Command in Imo says its operatives have arrested three suspected terrorists and recovered arms and ammunition in Oru East Local Government Area of the state.
Sources told Zagazola Makama that the suspects were arrested on Aug. 26 by operatives of the Anti-Kidnapping Unit led by ACP Olademeji Adeyeyi, during a surveillance patrol within Akata-Awomma community in Oru East.
The suspects were identified as Ikeorji Franklin, 33, of Okwuorji Umudim Awo-Mmama; Ginika Okeke, 25, of Akatta Umuduru; and Okeke Chimankpa, 20, also of Akatta Umuduru in Oru East.
“Searches conducted in their hideouts led to the recovery of two pump action guns and eight rounds of live cartridges,” the sources said.
The sources noted that investigation was ongoing to track down other fleeing members of the gang now at large.
