Police arrested Kidnappers ring leader, Others in Damaturu

Yobe State Police Command has busted a kidnapping syndicate where they arrested a kidnappers the kingpin who had been terrorizing communities in some parts of Borno, Adamawa and Yobe states.
This was disclosed in a Press Release issue by the Police Public Relations Officer, Yobe State Command, DSP Dungus Abdulkarim in Damaturu.
Police detectives from crack squad Damaturu acting on credible and actionable intelligence trailed and arrested Jobdi Muhammadu aged 42yrs a nomadic herder while planning for an operation to kidnap someone from Buni Yadi community of Gujba local government area of the state

“At the time of the arrest the suspect was found in possession of a loaded AK47 rifle.” Police said
However, efforts are ongoing to apprehend other fleeing members of the syndicate.
“In addition detectives from Potiskum Divisional Police Headquarters arrested two Robbery suspects who specialize in burglary and breaking into people’s houses and vehicles.” The Police added.
According to the release, the modus operandi of these hoodlums is to hibernate in markets and banks and watch customers who withdraw large sums of money in order to tail and burgle the vehicle.
“A case in point is that on 19th August, 2022 at about 1400hrs, one Abdul Ibrahim of Damboa went to Access Bank in Potiskum and withdrew a large sum of money.
“The suspects namely, Yahaya Sunusi age 48yrs and Mohammed Musa age 47yrs all from Kano state trailed Abdul after leaving the Bank.
“The release further said, the suspects broke into the car and stole the sum of #1,200,000.00. The suspects were promptly arrested by the police then the money recovered will be charged to court at the completion of investigation.” The state said
According to the statement, the Commissioner of Police, Haruna G. Garba psc appreciates the cooperation and support of the Yobe State Government in ensuring security and safety of lives and properties in the state.
The CP therefore urges citizens to continue to support the command by providing useful and credible information at all times.
