Police Confirms 2 Igbo Monarchs killed at a meeting in Imo
Reports earlier claim that about five traditional rulers have been killed during a meeting, by gunmen believed or suspected to be members of IPOB/ESN at Nnenasa community, Headquarters of Njaba local government area of Imo State in Southeast Nigeria.
Although Police were said to have spoken about the incident, they did not give the number of deaths and injuries in the attack.

Residents of the area had said, “Tragedy struck in Imo State on Tuesday evening as yet-to-be identified gunmen opened fire on traditional rulers during a meeting, killing three of them.
“The traditional rulers were having a stakeholders’ meeting at the Njaba local council headquarters at Nnenasa when the hoodlums struck.”
NEWSng learnt that other traditional rulers were left with varying degrees of injuries after two corpses were taken to the hospital.
A security operative in Imo state, who is not authorized to speak to the press, said only two of the monarchs died in the attack.
It was also reported that there was panic in the state as security operatives have taken to the streets trying to fish out perpetrators of this heinous crime.
The police spokesperson in the state, Mike Abattam, also said two of the traditional rulers had been confirmed dead while the command had commenced investigation into the incident.
Among the monarchs confirmed dead were the Obi 1 of Okwudor autonomous community, Eze E. Anayochukwu Durueburuo and Eze Sampson Osunwa of Ihebineowerre autonomous community.
