Police Discover Bodies of Abducted Victims including a Police Officer in Abia, Intensify Search for Missing VIP

The Abia State Police Command has discovered the bodies of three victims, including a police officer, following a brutal attack and abduction incident in Azumini Ndoki, Ukwa East Local Government Area.
Intelligence sources told Zagazola Makama that the victims were among those kidnapped on March 4, when armed men in a Toyota Sienna ambushed a convoy escorting businessman Chief Obasi Lawson.
The assailants opened fire, killing the driver and another occupant before making away with the businessman and a police officer attached to his security detail.
Following days of intense search efforts, police operatives recovered two corpses on March 8, later identified as the driver and a civilian passenger.
Further investigations led to the discovery of the remains of ASP Tanko Natip in a nearby bush. His body was photographed and evacuated to Okeikpe Mortuary in Ukwa West for preservation.
The fate of Chief Lawson remains unknown, as tactical teams, assisted by tracking technology, continue their search for the missing businessman.
Security has been reinforced in the area, with additional tactical teams deployed to prevent further attacks and track the movements of the suspected kidnappers.

Police arrest suspected bandit in Kaduna over suspicious financial transaction

The Kaduna State Police Command has arrested a 25-year-old man, Rabiu Usman, on suspicion of being a bandit associate following a report of suspicious financial activity in Giwa Local Government Area of the state.
A police sources confirmed the arrest on Tuesday, stating that the suspect was apprehended on April 28 by operatives of the Kidandan Division.
The arrest followed a complaint lodged by Kabiru Abdullahi, a 27-year-old Point of Sale (POS) operator in Galadimawa, who reported that the suspect had requested his account details on April 26 to enable a relative, identified as Ibrahim Bature, to send money to him.
Upon receiving intelligence that Ibrahim Bature is a suspected bandit, the complainant promptly alerted the police. Rabiu Usman was arrested when he arrived to collect the said funds.
The suspect is currently in custody and has provided useful information to investigators. Efforts are underway to track and apprehend Ibrahim Bature, who remains at large.

Bandits kill driver, abduct five passengers on Bagaga-Anka road

Armed bandits attacked a Golf vehicle on the Bagaga-Anka road in Zamfara State on April 26, 2025, killing the driver and abducting five passengers.
Sources told Zagazola Makama that the attack occurred at about 11:40 a.m. when the bandits blocked the road, shot dead the driver, and abducted the five passengers traveling in the vehicle.
Upon receiving the distress report, joint security forces were swiftly mobilized and dispatched to the scene. The injured driver was taken to Bagega Primary Healthcare for treatment.
Efforts to rescue the abducted victims are ongoing, with security agencies intensifying their search for the perpetrators.

Police rescue 68 trafficking victims, arrest 16 suspects in Oyo State

Police in Oyo State have rescued 68 victims of human trafficking and arrested 16 suspects, including 10 males and 6 females, following a raid on a hideout in Kajorepo community, Agabala Daniel Area.
Sources reliably informed Zagazola Makama that the operation, carried out on April 26, 2025, was based on credible intelligence from the Anti-Human Trafficking Unit of the State Intelligence Division (SID).
The rescued victims include 47 males, 20 females, and one child. They were found locked in a building where they were reportedly being held with the intent to be trafficked.
The suspects were taken into custody for interrogation, while the victims were provided with care and assistance. The building was sealed off, and patrol teams have been deployed to prevent any attempts by an angry mob to destroy the property.
The sources added that further investigations are ongoing to dismantle the trafficking network.
