Police raids lead to arrest of 104 suspects in Abuja

Police operatives in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) carried out successful raids across multiple criminal hotspots on April 23, resulting in the arrest of 104 suspects.
Sources told Zagazola Makama that the coordinated operation involved officers from Karshi, Kubwa, Kabusa, Nyanya, Lugbe, Utako, Maitama, Apo, Mpape, Karmo, Tungan Maje, and G/Lada Divisions.
During the raids, authorities recovered cutlasses, dried leaves suspected to be Indian hemp, and illicit drugs.
The arrested suspects, who have been profiled, are currently in custody, undergoing screening and interrogation. Those found to be involved in criminal activities will be charged to court.

Army troops repel ISWAP attack inflict casualties on the terrorists in Borno

Nigerian Army troops of Operation HADIN KAI ihave repelled an attack by suspected ISWAP terrorists on Gajigana town in Magumeri Local Government Area.
Sources said the terrorists launched the attack on the town at about 1:30 a.m. on Saturday, targeting a Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF) duty post.
“There was a fierce exchange of gunfire between the terrorists and a combined team of the troops who responded promptly to reinforce the defence of the town.
“The attack was successfully repelled, with terrorists suffering unspecified casualties as blood was observed in their withdrawal routes while normalcy has since been restored,” he said.
Sources said one CJTF operative, identified as Mr. Bulama Ngala, aged 45, sustained gunshot injuries from flying bullets during the confrontation.
The sources added that the injured operative was evacuated to General Hospital, Gajigana, where he is receiving medical treatment and responding positively.

Two young men drowned in a dam in Kazaure town, Jigawa State, while attempting to escape arrest during a raid on an illicit drugs joint by operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA).
Sources told Zagazola Makama that the NDLEA operatives stormed the drugs joint at Ganguli in Kazaure at about 3:00 p.m. on Saturday.
“Two suspects, identified as Garzali Garba, 22, of Tsohon Kafib Quarters, Kazaure, and Usama Ahmed, 21, of Kanti Quarters, Kazaure, attempted to evade arrest by diving into a nearby dam.
“Unfortunately, both drowned in the process,” the sources said.
Security operatives comprising the Police, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) personnel, were swiftly deployed to prevent a breakdown of law and order.
The NDLEA office in Kazaure was fortified to forestall mob action, while stakeholders were engaged to calm residents and maintain peace.

Troops ambush, neutralise two terrorists in Bama, recover weapons

Troops of Operation Hadin Kai have neutralised two terrorists in a successful ambush at Dipchari, near Banki Junction in Bama Local Government Area of Borno.
The ambush, conducted by troops of 151 Task Force Battalion on Friday evening, followed intelligence on terrorist movements in the area, according to a special situation report from the Headquarters 7 Division, Nigerian Army, on Saturday in Maiduguri.

During the encounter, the troops killed two insurgents while others fled with possible gunshot wounds.
Recovered items include two AK-47 rifles, two magazines, 16 rounds of 7.62mm special ammunition, one RPG tube, and a motorcycle.

Operation Hadin Kai troops have intensified clearance operations, ambushes, and patrols across the North East in recent weeks, aimed at denying terrorists freedom of movement and access to logistics.
