The men of the Nigerian Police Force in Katsina successfully foiled a cattle rustling attempt in Shaiskawa via Gwalgoro Village, Kankia LGA, following a swift response by operatives of Kankia Division.

Intelligence sources told Zagazola Makama that armed bandits attacked the village at about 11:30 p.m. in an attempt to steal cattle.

Upon receiving the distress call, the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) mobilized patrol teams, strategically blocked the criminals’ exit route, and engaged them in a fierce gun duel.

As a result, 25 rustled cows were successfully recovered, while the remaining cattle scattered into the bush.

However, two victims, identified as Umar Badamasi (50) of Akutai Magama and Abu Sufiyanu Makeri (40) of Gwalgoro, sustained gunshot injuries and were immediately rushed to General Hospital, Kankia, for treatment.
