Professor Daura appeals for adequate water provision to Yobe University

In an effort to end water scarcity in the University campus, the Vice Chancellor Yobe State University, Prof. Mala Mohammed Daura has appealed to the Yobe State Government through the Ministry of Water Resources to provide adequate water supply to the University.

The Vice Chancellor made the appeal today Monday, 6th December, 2021 during a Courtesy call to the Commissioner Ministry of Water Resources, Sen. Alkali Abdulkadir Jajere at the Conference Hall of the ministry.

Prof. Daura said the essence of the visit was to cement the existing cordial relationship between the University and the ministry.

The Vice Chancellor also urged the ministry to always liaise with the University in training technical staff and to continue accepting its students for Students Industrial Works Experience Scheme (SIWES) more especially from the Departments of Agriculture, Geography, and other related courses to the ministry so that the students will have proper practical knowledge before their graduations.

In his response, the Commissioner Ministry of Water Resources, Sen. Alkali Abdulkadir Jajere assured the University for the ministry’s total support, stressing that the University is part of their catchment area and already there is a plan on ground on ‘Damaturu Water Project’ and the University is amongst the beneficiaries.

The Commissioner said his ministry will do anything possible to assist the University in order to achieve anything it wants to achieve for the benefit of the state.

While delivering his vote of thanks, the Deputy Vice Chancellor Academic Services, Dr. Mohammed Musa Lawan commended the Commissioner for the warm reception and his assurance on assisting the University.

The Vice Chancellor Yobe State University, Prof. Mala Mohammed Daura was accompanied by the Deputy Vice Chancellor Academic Services, Dr. Mohammed Musa Lawan, Registrar, Dr. Kalli Alkali Yusuf Gazali, represented by Deputy Registrar Consultancy Services, Garba Adamu Girgir, Bursar, Bukar Aji Bukar, Acting University Librarian, Hamsatu K. Ali, Director Academic Planning, Dr. Mohammed Bukar Ngamdu, Director of Works and Physical Planning, Engr. Hassan Baba Daya, Deputy Registrar Office of the Vice Chancellor, Isa Dallari as well as the Deputy Registrar Information, Uwani Zainab Mamuda, among others.
