Residents of Masaka Accuse Community Leaders For Voters Registration

Residents of Coca Cola  Masaka, Karu Local Government Area of Nasarawa State are agitated on the ongoing voters registration exercise accusing their leaders for hijacking the registration centre to a private residence.   

Reports reaching NEWSng has it that some community leaders are out to manipulate the registration of voters to some few selected members of the said area.

 “We are not happy with what is happening in our registration point” said some resident.

A complainant went further and said that “this is a hijack and deliberate attempt to prevent some of us from registering.”

Speaking to one of the registration officers, he told NEWSng that the claim was not true.  “We are in this residence because the Magistrate Court is in session and absolute silence is needed for court proceeding” he said.

Speaking further, the Ward Head who declined to be mention said “these are enemies of progress and thank God you came and have seen things for yourself.”   

A community leaders who also refused be identified condemned this accusation in strong terms saying ” it is baseless, unfounded and nothing but lies sponsored by enemies of this community. This is residence of our late respected Sarki, we will be out in the open as soon as the court session is over for the day” he added.
