SC donates items worth millions to enhance efficiency in Borno in edu sector

An International non-governmental organization, Save the Children has donated items worth millions of naira to enhance and strengthen the education sector in Borno state.
Save the Children’s Deputy Director Programmes Operation Northeast, Mr Chachu Tadicha made this known during an official presentation of the items held in Maiduguri on Tuesday.
He revealed that items include a Toyota Land Cruiser (Jeep) and five (5) Laptops presented to the Borno State Universal Basic Education Board and five (5) Laptops, two (2) air conditions, two (2) fans, one shader Machine, one refrigerator and one Video projector equally dole out to Ministry of Education.

He explained that the intervention was part of the Early Recovery and Resilience Project funded by the European Union and supported by Save the Children which lasted for four years commencing in 2019 and ends in 2022.
Mr Chachu Tadicha stressed that they have been implementing the project by the government plans approvals which they are winding off the interventions and thanked the Borno State government for the support.

Also, Acting Coordinator Education Sector, Save the Children, Nabarth Mila explained that one of the project objectives is to increase access to save inclusive and quality Primary and Secondary Schools Education for both formal and non-formal Boys and Girls between the ages of six to eighteen (6-18) at the host and resettled communities.

In his response, the Chairman of Borno State Universal Basic Education Board (BOSUBEB), Prof. Bulama Kagu expressed his appreciation to Save the Children for their gesture, saying the intervention would boast their monitoring and supervision in the rural areas.
Also, the other items were received on behalf of the Ministry by the Permanent Secretary Ministry of Education, Aisha Musa Asheikh described the intervention as timely and assured judicious use of the items.
