SCAM CALLED DELEGATE; Selection for the highest bidder

The primary election that took place in Jos recently is marred with so many irregularities and the delegates took a center stage of deciding the faith of those seeking for electoral positions in the coming general elections in Nigeria. Mr. Itse Azi who resides in Tudun Wada Jos North LGA expressed his frustration on the electoral process as not satisfactory.

According to him ” The delegates only vote for the candidate that gives them the highest amount of money not minding the interest of the people, after all we don’t even know how they emerged as delegates “.

Throughout the primary elections, Delegates have become a money making venture in Nigerian politics. Many delegates have become wealthy in the recently concluded primary elections.  This is because votes buying characterised the outcome of the election results and the highest bidder wins. Nigerians have not recovered from the past delegates mistakes of the past selected aspirants and the same process is being repeated .

Meanwhile, in the Jos North / West constituency primary elections of the PDP, which comprises of Tudun Wada/ Kabon ward , Pharmacy Gyang Samuel Ishaya who is the preferred candidate lost the primary elections because of vote buying since he is not the highest bidder even though he is the peoples preferred candidate.

It was a sober reflection when the results was announced , and it became a funeral scenario, instead of jubilations, the people are saddened by the turn of events saying that the delegates have sold their mandate.

Finally, it is either the right choices are made or everyone is going to suffer the outcome of the deliberate misfortune of the delegates in their chosen candidate. It is better to correct the mistakes now by changing the system of choices made by delegates through a general electronic voting or the electoral process will continue in circles with the same results.
