Senator Lawan congratulates Buni on the successful flagging of agricultural empowerment scheme in Yobe

Former Senate President, Senator Ahmed Ibrahim Lawan, Ph.D., GCON, has extended his warmest congratulations to Governor Mai Mala Buni CON, on the successful flagging off of the Agricultural Empowerment Scheme by Vice President, Sen. Kashim Shettima GCON, who represented President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, in Damaturu.

Senator Ahmed Ibrahim Lawan, who represents Yobe North in the red chamber, said, This significant initiative by Governor Buni not only demonstrates his commitment to advancing agricultural development in Yobe state. But it also highlights the Yobe state government’s visionary leadership in addressing the challenges faced by our farmers.

According to him, the Agricultural Empowerment Scheme is just one proof, amongst several other efforts by the state government, to promote sustainable agricultural practices, enhance food security, and uplift the livelihoods of our citizens.

“By encouraging innovation, providing essential resources, and fostering a supportive environment for our farmers, the groundwork for a prosperous agricultural sector in Yobe State has been laid by the present administration.

He revealed that, as we navigate the path toward national food security and economic resilience, I have no doubt that this initiative will empower our farmers, boost agriculture productivity, and contribute significantly to the overall development of our dear state and the nation at large.

Senator Lawan further said that moments before the departure of the Vice President from Damaturu to Abuja, we made a brief stop at the palace of the Emir of Damaturu, HRH Alhaji Shehu Hashimi II, Ibn Umar Al-Amin El-Kanemi, to pay our respects to him and receive his royal blessings.
