Senator Lawan meets the Ngizim Youth Forum in Abuja

President of the 9th Senate, Senator Ahmed Ibrahim Lawan, Ph.D., GCON, Yobe North Senatorial District, has received the Executives of the Yobe state chapter of the National Ngizim Youth Forum at the National Assembly, Abuja.

In a statement issued and signed by Senator Ahmed Ibrahim Lawan, Ph.D., GCON, which was shared with newsmen in Damaturu, the Yobe state capital,.

During the visit, the president of the Ninth Senate was presented with a letter of appointment as patron of the Youth Body. The letter was signed and presented by the Secretary General, Malam Adamu Garba.

Also, some Excos and members of the University of Abuja chapter of the National Union of Yobe State Students paid a courtesy visit to the president of the 9th senate, Senator Ahmed Lawan Lawan, during the course of the week.

I was, indeed, honored to have the opportunity to engage with such a dynamic and promising group of young people. It gives me so much joy to mentor those seeking to develop themselves whenever I get the opportunity to do so,” he said.

He maintained that I recognize and appreciate the invaluable role that the youth play in shaping our nation’s future. The ideas, enthusiasm, and commitment of our youth to progress are essential for the advancement of our country.

I commend the Ngizim Youth Forum and the University of Abuja chapter of the National Union of Yobe State students for their active involvement in youth development initiatives that align with the priorities of the present administration.

Speaking from my experience as a former chairman of the National Assembly between 2019 and 2023, I can categorically say that the federal legislature recognizes the challenges that our youth face, including unemployment, underemployment, and limited access to quality education.

Senator Ahmed Lawan urged the youth to take full advantage of educational programs, mentorship initiatives, and skills development opportunities. I also encourage them to be innovative, creative, and persistent in the pursuit of their dreams.

“As our youth navigate the challenges of today’s world, they must always remember that their voices matter. They must strive to engage actively in civic discourse, participate in decision-making processes, and hold leaders accountable.

I am confident that the future of Nigeria is brighter with young people getting involved in politics and participating fully in governance.
