Senator Lawan mourns Rimi

President of the Ninth Senate, Senator Ahmed Ibrahim Lawan, Ph.D., GCON, Sardaunan Bade, Yobe North Senatorial District, mourns the passing of his esteemed political ally, Alhaji Usman Rimi, who died this morning in Gashu’a, Yobe State.

Senator Ahmed Ibrahim Lawan attended the funeral ceremony today, according to Islamic rites. Also present at the funeral were the Deputy Speaker of the Yobe State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Ya’u Usman Dachia, and the and the Chief of Staff to the Executive Governor of Yobe State, Alhaji Abdullahi Yusuf Gashua.

Other personalities who attended the funeral included Hon. Adamu Dala Dogo, member of the of the Yobe State House of Assembly (Karasuwa constituency), Hon. Sanda Kara Bade, member of the Yobe State House of Assembly (Bade West constituency), Hon. Mohammed Garba Gagiyo, Yobe State Commissioner for Budget and Economic Planning, and the newly elected chairman of Bade Local Government, Hon. Ibrahim Babagana.

According to the President of the 9th Senate, Rimi was a tireless advocate for the unity and progress of our party, the All Progressives Congress (APC), in Yobe North Senatorial District.

“Beyond politics, the deceased was a compassionate and generous man who always extended a helping hand to those in need. His philanthropy touched countless lives, and he will be remembered fondly for his kindness and empathy,” Senator Lawan said.

“Today, we lost a devoted servant of the people. His absence will leave a void in our political arena and in our hearts.

Senator Lawan extends his deepest condolences to Alhaji Rimi’s family, friends, and the people of Gashua.

May Allah (SWT) grant Alhaji Usman Rimi Aljannatul Firdaus and comfort his loved ones during this difficult time of mourning. Ameen.
