Senator Ahmed Ibrahim Lawan, Ph.D., GCON, President of the Ninth Senate, has today arrived in his Yobe North Senatorial District and proceeded to pay his respects to the Emir of Bade, His Royal Highness, Alhaji Abubakar Umar Suleiman, CFR.
Senator Ahmed Ibrahim Lawan, thereafter, was joined by His Royal Highness, the Chief of Staff to the Executive Governor of Yobe State, Alhaji Abdullahi Yusuf Gashua, and the Yobe State Commissioner for Budget and Economic Planning, Alhaji Mohammed Garba Gagiyo, to commission a mosque built and dedicated to his late mother, Hajiya Halima Ibrahim, in Jakusko local government area of Yobe state.
“While my mother was alive, the people of Daklam village, where the mosque is located, reached out to her to build a mosque and Islamiyya (School for Islamic Education) for their community.
“My dear mother was able to keep to her promise of building the school, but death made it impossible for her to deliver on her promise of building the mosque” he said.
After her demise, we embarked on building the mosque on her behalf. We made this sacrifice to fulfill her promise and to make this memorial mosque part of her good deeds while she was alive.
Therefore, the reward for this mosque is dedicated to her as our mother and the person who initiated the intention of building this mosque.
May Allah (SWT) forgive her shortcomings and grant her soul eternal rest in Aljannatul Firdaus. Ameen. He prayed.
