Senator Ahmed Ibrahim Lawan, Ph.D., GCON, Sardaunan Bade, Yobe North Senatorial District, has extended his deepest sympathies to his constituents in the Nguru local government area of Yobe State over the devastating floods that have ravaged some communities in that part of his senatorial district.

“I have been closely monitoring the situation, and reports indicate that the flooding has caused damage and displacement” he said.

According to him, “I understand the pain and hardship that this disaster has brought upon those affected. However, I want to assure you that I am doing everything within my power to assist during this difficult time.” Senator Lawan said.

The President of the 9th Senate revealed that I have already contacted the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) to visit Nguru immediately to assess the extent of damage and provide relief materials and support to the affected areas and families.

I will also be paying a visit to Nguru to sympathize with the displaced and all those who have been impacted by the floods.

“My office remains open to receiving reports and updates on the situation; please do not hesitate to reach out to us with the necessary information.” Senator Lawan added.
