Shocker: Police Arrest Nursery Teacher For Sexual Molestation Of Minor In Borno
Borno State Police Command has arrested a nursery teacher Aunty Zara, working with a private school Golden Olive in Maiduguri, for allegedly fingering a four-year old girl in Nursery 2.
Confirming the incident to journalists in an interview in Maiduguri, the Police Public Relations Officer, Sani Kamilu said “the case is with the police and definitely police are doing a thorough and objective investigation on the matter.”
“The moment we are done with our investigations, we will send it to the Directorate for Public Prosecution (DPP) for advice and recommendations, after which we will take it to court for further action.”
While answering the question, is it a case of sexual assault or what? Kamila said, “that it is the investigation that will reveal.”
“There is a medical report on that but there are some things that I can reveal to the public but when we are done with the investigation, and our investigation is very objective, we will get to the people, when it is over,” he said.
Northeast Star gathered that Zara’s arrest followed a petition, by the father of the pupil Malam Hassan Dala.
According to the victim, my daughter came back from school, the following morning when my wife was preparing her for school, my daughter complained to her mother that she was feeling pain in her private part that and we observed she had reddish-colored urine instead of the normal.
“I observed the strange discharge, I then rushed to the Miyatti hospital to check if it was an infection since it was rare for minors to manifest blood at such an early age.
“On reaching the hospital, it was discovered that she had been penetrated. And on inquiries, she opened up that it was her class teacher that curdled her inside the dark of her hijabs to commit the havoc.
“She said my teacher Malama Zara kept me inside her hijab after school on that day and asked me to suck her breasts while sitting on her lap.
“While I sucked her breasts she used her fingers to penetrate my private part.”
On discovery that his daughter was not ill afterward but obviously violated, Hassan in conjunction with his neighbors quickly reported the matter to the police Division at GRA near the Government house where the matter was taken up for prosecution under the new rape law.

Head of the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) in Borno state, Barrister Jumai Meshelia in a chat Friday evening said they were aware of the matter and would surely do the needful to ensure that the suspect is prosecuted according to the violence against person prosecution VAPP law.

By: Michael Mike
A leading Nigerian businessman and philanthropist, Dr. Leemon Ikpea, has met privately with the Pope at the Vatican in what close associates described as a deeply spiritual and inspiring moment.
Ikpea, the founding chairman and chief executive officer of the Lee Group of Companies, is a prominent figure in Nigeria’s indigenous oil and gas technology sector. The Edo State-born industrialist travelled to Rome as part of his annual spiritual devotion and to strengthen his commitment to the Catholic Church.
During the private audience, the Pontiff is said to have prayed for Ikpea and for Nigeria, urging peace, unity and development in the country. The Pope also reportedly commended the businessman for his philanthropic work and his contributions to human development initiatives both at home and abroad.
A close associate who accompanied Ikpea to the Vatican described the meeting as “humbling and uplifting.” According to him, the encounter reinforced Ikpea’s deep-rooted Catholic faith and his dedication to giving back to society despite his corporate success.
The associate further noted that the industrialist has remained connected to his modest beginnings in Ewatto, Edo State, even as he continues to expand his business interests and social investments.
Dr. Ikpea is widely known for supporting educational programmes, healthcare initiatives and community development projects across different parts of Nigeria.
The Vatican meeting is being seen by his supporters as both a spiritual milestone and a recognition of his humanitarian efforts.

Troops of the Joint Task Force, Operation Enduring Peace, have raided a criminal hideout in Kaura Local Government Area of Kaduna State, neutralising several criminals, rescuing a kidnapped victim and recovering arms, ammunition and motorcycles.
Security sources told Zagazola Makama that the operation was carried out on Tuesday following credible intelligence on the activities of criminal elements operating within the area.
During the raid, the troops reportedly engaged the criminals in a gun duel, resulting in the neutralisation of four suspects, while others fled the scene with possible injuries.
Items recovered from the hideout included one fabricated rifle, five rounds of 7.62mm special ammunition and two motorcycles.

Preliminary findings indicated that the neutralised suspects were members of a criminal syndicate responsible for attacks along the Ganawuri–Manchok corridor.
In a related development, the troops were said to have responded swiftly to information on the abduction of a young woman, Miss Immaculate Samuel, who was kidnapped on the night of Jan. 13 at Kajim Village, also in Kaura LGA.
The troops mobilised and pursued the kidnappers, leading to another exchange of gunfire during which three of the suspects were neutralised, while the victim was rescued unharmed.
The rescued victim was subsequently debriefed and reunited with her family.
Security forces said troops had continued to dominate the general area in order to track down and apprehend other members of the criminal group and restore normalcy to affected communities.
