Subsidy: Kadafur flags off the distribution of food palliative in Biu LG.

7600 people from 12 wards Comprised of 270 units of Biu local government are to benefit from the Food palliative.

Commissions 300 Housing Units built by Borno State Government at Miringa Town.

Borno State Deputy Governor H.E Umar Usman Kadafur in line with the present administration of Governor Babagana Umara Zulum efforts to cushion the hardship being experienced by the people as a result of fuel subsidy removal has today unveiled the distribution of food palliative to 270 units of12 wards in Biu Local Government.

It could be recalled now that since last week, Borno State Government have been distributing food palliative in line with the Federal Government directive to assist the less privilege to cushion their hardship as a result of fuel subsidy removal, the gesture has now been extended to Southern Borno

The deputy governor said modalities for the distribution to reach all beneficiaries have been mapped out and urged the people to be orderly and conduct themselves peacefully to ensure smooth distribution.

The deputy governor said all local governments in Borno State would benefit from the distribution of palliative as directed by the federal government to relief the hardship been experienced as a result of subsidy removal.

The deputy governor subsequently commissioned 300 housing units constructed by the Borno State Government as part of the state government resettlement drive of displaced people as a result of insurgency adding that IDPS from from communities in Gur, Mandara Girau, Miringa and Buratai are expected to benefit from the 300 houses.
The deputy governor promised that the construction of additional 300 hundred housing estate will begin soon in Biu.

In his remarks during the commissioning of the houses the Commissioner Ministry of RRR Engineer Ibrahim Idriss Garba said the 300 houses semi detachable single 2 rooms in each block constructed by the Ministry of RRR will accommodate 2 households each.

In his welcome address the local government Chairman ,Alhaji Sule Ali Yimi commended the Borno State Government under the leadership of Prof Babagana Umara Zulum said alot of development projects were executed in Biu and expressed hope that more are coming.

The Chairman appealed to the people to continue to support the present administration of Governor Babagana Umara Zulum for more dividends of democracy .

The Emir of Biu, His Royal Highness, Mai Mustapha Umar Mustapha 2 also thank governor and his deputy for their concern to the people of Biu and Biu Emirate Council where he said alot have been achieved in the last four years adding that the construction of 300 housing units in Miringa and distribution of palliative today came at the right time.

The deputy governor and his entourage were later at the Emir’s Palace to pay a homage and seek for the blessing of the Royal father.
