The Emir of Tikau Emirate Council in Yobe State,  Alhaji Muhammadu Abubakar Ibn Grema, has urged the people of his emirate not to rely on food assistance from the World Food Programme and to abandon their farming occupation.

The emir disclosed this through the Madakin Tikau, Alhaji Musa Lawan, in his Sallah Message to the people of his emirate.

He said this happened to the people of our neighboring Fune local government area, where they abandoned farming as a result of getting food assistance from the World Food Program.

According to the royal father, everything you see in this country has come through farming; therefore, our people should engage fully in the farming system.

He maintained that, before, we were hearing this in our neighboring local government areas, but now that the program has reached our people, he is congratulating them that this assistance has come to them.

The mornach revealed that people should be careful; they will not live there farming; whatever they are going to get, if it is not from the Almighty Allah, there will be an end one day; therefore, people should be engaged in their occupation, farming.

Alhaji Muhammadu Abubakar Ibn Grema thanks His Excellency Governor Mai Mala Buni for the assistance he rendered to the emirate, adding that we are one hundred percent in support of your government.
