The National Obstetric Fistula Centre (NOFC) Ningi, Bauchi state. Is one of the three Obsterics Fistula Centres in Nigeria. Others are in Abakaliki and Katsina.
The Centre at Ningi is a specialist hospital for the treatment and cure of Vesicovaginal Fistula disease tagged and called (VVF). It is basically associated with women. VVF is, therefore, a disease that allows continuous involuntary discharge of urine into the vaginal vault. Being an ailment related to the opposite sex (females) it is not out of place to wedged it in the medical premises of Gynaecology and indeed can be said to be a Gyneacologlcal illness.

VVF can be embarrassing to a woman and her family, it discomforts the patient. And is very common and pronounced in Nigeria.
The Centre at Ningi has made a tremendous impact in the treatment and cure of this disease been the one and only hospital known for such treatment in the Northeast region. Specialist hospital of this kind no doubt has her challenges of inadequate infrastructures, medical equipment, experts and personnel are in need because of the influx of patients to this public medical centre at Ningi.
Dr Ibrahim Umar is the head of the Centre as Chief Medical Director (CMD) who is up and doing to see that the hospital succeed and achieve her set objectives.
