A chieftain of the All Progressive Congress (APC), Cesnabmihilo Dorothy Nuhu-Aken’ova, says those that sought the Federal High Court to stop the inauguration of the President-elect Bola Ahmed Tinubu are “sore losers’ who do not mean well for the country.

Nuhu-Aken’ova who is the National Coordinator of All-Inclusive Movement for Bola Ahmed Tinubu, said this during the Gbagyi Day celebration at Unity Fountain Abuja.

Five people, who claimed to be acting on behalf of natives and residents of the FCT, had on April 28, 2023, approached the Federal High Court Abuja to stop the May 29 inauguration of the President elect, on the basis that he failed to secure 25 percent votes cast in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

The move has generated controversy, as many natives and residents in the FCT have distanced themselves from the suit.

Nuhu-Aken’ova said that the Gbagyis, other indigenes and residents of the FCT are friends of the President-Elect and have positioned themselves strategically to partner with the incoming administration for it to succeed.

She said: “We have convened this Gbagyi Day to counter the narrative and inequivocally dissociate ourselves from some sore loosers who have taken to the courts claiming to represent the natives and residents of the FCT in a suit to halt the inauguration of Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

“The Gbagyis are a significant population co-hosting the FCT and also constitute a significant residential population within the FCT. We have come to openly express our total solidarity to the President-Elect and the incoming administration.

“Gbagyi ethnic nationalities are fully in support of the planned inauguration of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu as Executive President on May 29th.

” By the grace of court Bola Ahmed Tinubu will be sworn-in as the President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria on 29th May as scheduled and the enemies of democracy will be put to shame.”

In his remarks, Convener of the Tinubu hangout, Tosin Adeyanju, who was also present at the venue, commended the Gbagyis and residents of the FCT for their support.

He said more solidarity hangouts in support of the incoming administration are underway until the eve of the swearing-in ceremony.of the President-Elect.
