Troops of the Nigerian Army have arrested three suspected female collaborators of ISWAP terrorists during an operation in Konduga Local Government Area of Borno State.
Military sources disclosed that the suspects were apprehended at about 10:30 p.m. on June 18 following communication intercepts indicating a planned movement of a woman to a terrorist enclave.
According to the sources, troops of the 222 Battalion (Mechanised) carried out the operation at an internally displaced persons (IDP) camp in Konduga, where the suspects were picked up based on intelligence findings.
The suspects were alleged to be linked to facilitating movements and communication between civilians and terrorist elements operating within the region.
Military authorities said the three suspects were currently in custody of the troops for further investigation and necessary action.
They added that the operation forms part of ongoing efforts to disrupt support networks and dismantle collaboration channels aiding terrorist activities in the North-East.
Investigations are ongoing to determine the extent of their involvement and possible connections to other elements within the network.
