Troops Arrest Two Key Terrorist Collaborators, Recover Motorcycle in Zamfara

Troops of 1 Brigade Counter-Terrorism Force 2, in collaboration with a Tactical Support Team (TST) and Hybrid Forces, have arrested two suspected terrorist collaborators linked to a notorious bandit leader during an offensive operation in Kaura Namoda Local Government Area of Zamfara State.

Security sources told Zagazola Makama that the operation was conducted at about 5:00 p.m. on July 12 in Sakajiki Village based on credible intelligence.

During the operation, troops apprehended two key collaborators of the notorious terrorist kingpin, Kachalla Dan Sadiya. One of the suspects was identified as the son of the wanted bandit leader, according to the sources.

The troops also recovered a motorcycle believed to have been used in support of the group’s criminal activities.

The suspects are currently in custody and are undergoing preliminary interrogation, while efforts are ongoing to dismantle the remaining members of the criminal network operating in the area.

Troops Arrest Two Suspected Terrorist Informants at Askira Uba Market

Troops of 115 Task Force Battalion have arrested two suspected terrorist informants during a security operation at Askira Uba Market in Askira Uba Local Government Area of Borno State.

Security sources told Zagazola Makama that the suspects were apprehended at about 3:10 p.m. on Aug. 1 following intelligence-led surveillance by troops operating in the area.

The sources said the two suspects are believed to have been providing information to terrorist elements operating within the region.

Following their arrest, the suspects were handed over to the Headquarters, 28 Task Force Brigade, for further investigation and other necessary actions.

Military sources said the operation is part of ongoing efforts to dismantle terrorist support networks by identifying and apprehending informants and collaborators aiding insurgent activities in the North-East.

Troops arrest suspected ISWAP informant attempting to flee Adamawa community

Troops of the Joint Task Force North-East, Operation HADIN KAI, have arrested a suspected ISWAP informant who allegedly attempted to flee after residents became suspicious of his activities in Hong Local Government Area of Adamawa State.

Intelligence sources told Zagazola Makama that the suspect, identified as Hassan Hammon Buba, 35, was arrested at about 2:30 p.m. on July 31 by troops of the 232 Battalion (Tactical) at Garaha Market.

The sources said the arrest followed credible intelligence linking the suspect to suspected insurgent activities.

According to the sources, the suspect allegedly tried to escape from the community after noticing that local residents were making efforts to report his suspicious movements and activities to security agencies.

Troops of the Joint Task Force North-East, Operation HADIN KAI, have arrested two suspected terrorist informants during a fighting patrol at Askira Market in Askira/Uba Local Government Area of Borno State.

Intelligence sources told Zagazola Makama that the suspects were apprehended at about 3:10 p.m. on Aug. 1 by troops of the 115 Task Force Battalion acting on credible intelligence.

The suspects were identified as Gujiya Mamiyo Umar, 40, from Gargauli, and Adam Abba, 39, from Bulakurge village, both in Askira/Uba Local Government Area.

According to the sources, the troops arrested the duo during routine fighting and market patrols aimed at disrupting terrorist support networks and identifying collaborators operating within civilian communities.

The suspects were subsequently handed over to the Headquarters of the 28 Task Force Brigade for further investigation and other necessary actions.

Military sources said the operation forms part of ongoing intelligence-driven efforts by Operation HADIN KAI to dismantle terrorist logistics and intelligence networks across the North-East.

They added that the general security situation across the theatre remains calm but unpredictable, while troops continue to maintain high morale and operational readiness in the ongoing counter-insurgency campaign.
