Troops clear two ISWAP enclaves, kill six, and rescue 78 captives in Borno

Troops of 7 Division and Sector 1 Operation Hadin Kai deployed have naturalized six ISWAP terrorists and rescued 78 persons held in enclaves of the terrorists in Gamborun Ngala, Borno State.

It was gathered that the terrorists were naturalized in an operation conducted by the troops in conjunction with the men of the Civilian Joint Task Force at GIME and MUZURI villages on November 9, 2023.

Intelligence sources told Zagazola Makama that the troops
neutralized six terrorists, captured some AK-47 rifles and dane guns, and rescued 78 people, comprising 30 women and 48 children, from terrorist captivity.

However, a Hilux vehicle conveying the Civilian Joint Task Force was involved in an improvised explosive device explosion at Gulwa while returning from the operation, resulting in the deaths of two commanders of the group while others were injured.

The recovered weapons, rescued persons, and wounded were evacuated to the troop medical facility.
