Troops Foil Kidnap Attempt, Arrest Three Suspects in Plateau

Troops of Operation Enduring Peace have foiled an attempted kidnap and arrested three suspected kidnappers in Jos North Local Government Area of Plateau State.
Sources told Zagazola Makama that the incident occurred at about 9:15 p.m. on June 24 after a distress call reported an attempted abduction at a residence in Dong village.
The sources said the swift response of security personnel forced the assailants to abandon their mission and flee the scene before the victim could be taken away.
Following information provided by vigilant residents who identified some of the fleeing suspects, security operatives, in collaboration with Operation Rainbow, launched a search-and-arrest operation in the area.
The operation led to the arrest of three suspects identified as Abok Ajiji, 38; Joseph Ajiji, 33; and Chollom Thomas, 37, around the residence of the intended kidnap victim.
The suspects are currently in custody undergoing preliminary investigation, while efforts are ongoing to apprehend other members of the criminal gang who escaped. TO APPREHEND THE FLEEING CRIMINALS.

Farmlands belonging to eight farmers have been destroyed by grazing cattle in Riyom Local Government Area of Plateau State.
Sources told Zagazola Makama that the incident occurred at about 9:30 a.m. on June 24 at Tahoss village, where security operatives responded to a distress call over the destruction of farms owned by Mr. Gyang Samuel and seven other farmers.
On arrival at the scene, the operatives confirmed that the farmlands had been damaged overnight by cattle.
The affected farmers were urged to remain calm and refrain from taking the law into their own hands while efforts continue to identify, track and apprehend those responsible for the destruction.
Security sources said investigations into the incident are ongoing as authorities intensify measures to curb recurring farmer-herder conflicts in the area.

Troops of Operation Enduring Peace have recovered 22 cattle found grazing on farmlands destroyed in Teegbe village, Bassa Local Government Area of Plateau State.
Security sources told Zagazola Makama that the incident occurred at about 11:00 a.m. on June 23, following a report that farmlands belonging to three farmers had been damaged by grazing cattle.
The affected farmers were identified as Mr. Danjuma Yaris, Gado Chiyi and Bitrus Nechi.
The sources said security personnel responded promptly to the scene and intercepted 22 cattle grazing on the affected farms without any herder in sight.
The livestock were subsequently moved to a safe location pending further administrative and legal action by the relevant authorities.
The incident is part of ongoing efforts by security agencies to curb farmer-herder conflicts and protect farmlands in the state.

Troops of Operation Enduring Peace have rescued a kidnap victim after pursuing suspected kidnappers along the Gidan Waya–Nisama road in Jema’a Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
Security sources told Zagazola Makama that the incident occurred at about 8:00 p.m. on June 24 following reports of suspected kidnappers operating along the route.
The sources said troops of Sector 7 responded swiftly to the distress call and, on arrival, discovered a vehicle loaded with onions that had been abandoned by the roadside after the criminals abducted one of its occupants.
The troops immediately launched a pursuit of the fleeing kidnappers, forcing them to abandon the victim and escape into nearby bushes.
The rescued victim was secured by the troops, while efforts are ongoing to track down and apprehend the fleeing suspects.
The military has urged residents to continue providing timely and credible information to support ongoing operations against criminal elements in the area.
