Troops Hand Over Rescued Teenager to Family in Maiduguri

A 15-year-old boy, Ali Usman, who was earlier rescued by troops of Operation Hadin Kai, has been formally handed over to his father after undergoing proper screening and identification procedures.
Military sources disclosed that the handover took place at about 2:00 p.m. on June 18 in Maiduguri, following verification of the boy’s identity.
According to the sources, Ali Usman was rescued from a terrorist camp located in Saha, within the Mandara Mountains, by troops of the 82 Division Task Force Battalion deployed in Ngoshe on June 11, 2026.
After his rescue, the teenager underwent necessary medical checks and security screening to confirm his identity and ensure his safety before being released to his family.
He was subsequently handed over to his father, Mr Bulama Usman Garba of Jiddari Polo area of Maiduguri, in the presence of military officials.
