Troops launch operation after bandits kill, abduct villagers in Kachia LGA

Troops of 1 Division in collaboration with other security agencies have intensified efforts to rescue victims and apprehend perpetrators following a violent bandit attack in Wake and Gadanaji villages, Kachia Local Government Area.
Zagazola reported that at about 5:55 a.m. on September 7, 2025, a large group of armed bandits invaded Wake village, firing sporadically.
Several villagers were fatally shot, including Elisha Pius, Japhet Bitrus, Obadiah Joshua, Luka Augustine, and Paul Augustine of Wake village, as well as Ezekiel Augustine, Ishaya Paul, and Bulus Bawa of Gadanaji village.
Others sustained varying degrees of injuries, including Sanda Christopher, Issac Elisha, Moses Christian, Godday Clement, Janet Godday of Wake village, and Sunday Nuhu , Zakariah Anthony, Gideon Pius of Gadanaji village.
A number of people were also reportedly kidnapped to unknown destinations.
It was gathered that the troops immediately mobilized to the scene. Injured victims were rushed to hospitals for medical attention, with some referred to Barau Dikko Teaching Hospital, Kaduna.
Combing operations have been intensified to rescue remaining victims and apprehend the assailants.
Kaduna state government is yet to released any statement regarding the attack or pay a sympathy visit.
