Troops of the Joint Task Force (North East) Operation Hadin Kai (OPHK) have neutralised five Boko Haram/ISWAP terrorists in a fresh offensive at Dipchari, a notorious crossing point used by the insurgents in Bama Local Government Area of Borno State.
Sources told Zagazola Makama that the operation was part of the ongoing Operation Desert Sanity IV.
The source said troops launched a decisive ambush at Dipchari, located on the boundary between 151 and 152 Battalions after receiving intelligence on terrorist movements in the area.
“During the operation conducted on Oct. 3, the troops made contact with Boko Haram logistics elements and engaged them in a brief firefight, neutralising five terrorists, while others fled with gunshot wounds,” the source said.
He added that the operation further disrupted insurgent logistics networks and restricted their freedom of movement along the route.
According to him, the offensive aligns with the theatre command’s resolve to maintain maximum pressure on terrorist enclaves and eliminate remaining threats in the North East.
