Troops of the Joint Task Force, North East Operation Hadin Kai (OPHK), have recovered ₦4.77 million, bicycles, mobile phones, and other items after an encounter with suspected terrorists along the Maiduguri–Damboa Road in Borno State.

Sources told Zagazola Makama that the encounter occurred on Oct. 18, 2025, when troops from the Forward Operating Base (FOB) Molai sighted elements of the terrorists mounted on two bicycles around Masta Fanameri, while conducting a routine patrol along the Main Supply Route (MSR) Maiduguri–Damboa.

The sources indicated that the terrorists fled into the nearby bush, abandoning their belongings, after sighting the advancing troops.

“Items recovered during exploitation include two bicycles, six small lamps, two solar power units, six new Tecno phones with chargers but without SIM cards, bags of garri, and the sum of ₦4,770,000,” the sources stated.

Troops subsequently conducted a search-and-pursue operation, but no further contact was made with the fleeing insurgents.

Operation Hadin Kai troops, in collaboration with other security agencies, have continued to sustain offensive operations under Operation Desert Sanity IV to deny terrorists freedom of movement and to protect key supply routes in the North East.
