Troops recover rustled cattle, foil bandits’ attack in Kaduna

Troops of Operation FANSAN YANMA have recovered rustled cattle after repelling an attack by armed bandits in Giwa Local Government Area of Kaduna State.

Sources told Zagazola Malama that the incident occurred on Wednesday night when bandits armed with sophisticated weapons invaded a Ruga settlement at Unguwan Gari Village, Kakangi Ward.

The attackers shot two residents – Iliya Habu, 60, and Tukur Habu, 50 – who later died from their injuries at General Hospital, Zabiwa. Their corpses were released to family members for burial in line with Islamic rites.

The troops, working in synergy with Police operatives and other security agencies, engaged the bandits in a fierce gun battle, forcing them to abandon the stolen cattle and flee into the bush.

“All the rustled cattle were successfully recovered, and efforts have been intensified to track and apprehend the fleeing perpetrators,” the source said.
