Military sources disclosed that the incident occurred at about 11:15 p.m. on June 20 when troops responded to a distress call reporting an attack by suspected armed Fulani militias at the mining location.
According to the sources, upon arrival at the scene, the troops swiftly engaged the attackers and successfully repelled the assault, forcing the gunmen to flee in disarray.
