Troops repel terrorist attacks, rescue victims in Sokoto, Kebbi

Troops of Operation FANSAN YANMA (OPFY) have repelled multiple terrorist attacks, neutralised two terrorists and rescued victims in Sokoto and Kebbi States.

Sources told Zagazola Makama that at about 9:15 a.m. on Sept. 30, troops of 8 Division Garrison responded to terrorists’ attack on fishermen near Modachi village in Isa LGA, but the terrorists fled on sighting troops.

Similarly, at 10:12 a.m., troops responded to another attack at Bargaja village in Isa LGA, where terrorists shot and killed one local while three others were rescued.

The report added that at about 4:00 p.m., troops of 1 Brigade engaged terrorists around Makurdi and Nasarawa villages in Ngaski LGA of Kebbi State.

It said troops ambushed the terrorists along Salka–Kinke–Makurdi road, neutralised two, recovered seven AK-47 magazines, 180 rounds of 7.62mm ammunition and two motorcycles.

It further said that eight kidnapped victims who had scattered for safety during the firefight were rescued.
