A construction vehicle has destroyed the new road network connecting Bama road and Giwa barracks which was laid about three days ago by the Babagana Zulum administration.
Despite efforts by the government to ensure that all roads are safe and connected across the state to make it easy for residents, some greedy construction drivers who are using the companies’ vehicles for side business are found to be in the habit of damaging the newly constructed roads within Maiduguri.
“These drivers have been driving dangerously and not taking caution on how their vehicles are damaging road construction work in Maiduguri. There is a need for the government to put a taskforce to check reckless driving by truck drivers as well as their activities which informed the damage of the road network built by the government.” An eyewitness, who observed the situation said.
This driver who brought sand to some people building houses along the newly constructed road linking Tashan Bama and Giwa Barracks has completely damaged this road which was completed about three days ago.
