Vitafoam Donates Block Of Classrooms, Educational Materials To Borno Primary School

The Vitafoam Nigeria PLC has on Thursday donated block of classrooms, desks and writing materials to Budum Primary School in Maiduguri Metropolitan Council (MMC).

Handing over the block of classrooms and the other materials to the Borno State deputy Governor,  Umar Kadafur, the Group Managing Director of Vitafoam Nigeria PLC, Mr Taiwo Adeniyi said the pilot project was constructed by the company as a kind of endorsement and support for the state government’s education policy and in honour of an illustrious son of the the state, late  Mr Abbagana Mohammed Abatca who until his death served the Company meritoriously as the Group technical d8evelopment director. 

He said as a corporate social responsibility, Vitafoam has always been interested to give out to community where it operates, adding that basic education is key to development of any society hence the company did not go to the secondary school or university, but to primary school because once a good foundation is layer, the rest is history. 

” We relied on the effort of the state government that has been trying to bring back people to school and as well bring the little ones out of the street to contribute our quota to ensure that youth and the youth ones are not recruited into Boko Haram base,” Adeniyi said. 

Borno State Government has commended  Vitafoam Nigeria PLC  for considering Borno under their  Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives towards the development of Education in  the State .

In his remarks, Borno State deputy Governor , Umar Kadafur commended the organization for the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative it has put in place for the successful construction and handing over of the beffiting block of four classrooms at the Budum Primary School.

Kadafur said Vitafoam Nigeria PLC is one of the leading foam manufacturers of first choice, manufacturing and distributing quality mattresses, pillows, foams, duvets, bedsheets among others, adding that over the years the company has been performing its corporate social responsibility excellently .

He assured them of the state government’s readiness to partner with Vitafoam Company to support business groups or individuals who are willing in doing business with the company .

He used the occasion to appeal to other companies to emulate the good gesture done by Vitafoam Nigeria PLC  towards the development of education in the state especially at this trying time of recovery process.

He equally appealed to the company to expand its base in the state with a view to providing job opportunities for the teeming youths in the state.
