Wakilbe Dedicates Borno’s NCE Commendation for Outstanding Educational Performance to Zulum

The Borno State Commissioner for Education has dedicated to Governor Babagana Umara Zulum a commendation he received for the state’s outstanding performance in education programs and policies at the 68th National Council on Education (NCE).
 
The NCE, the highest decision-making body in Nigerian education, held its annual meeting in UBEC Digital Resource Centre Kado, Abuja, on Tuesday, October 10, 2024.
 
The meeting brought together educators from across the country to discuss educational outcomes and policies.
 
During the session, the Minister of Education, Tahir Mamman, commended three state commissioners, including those from Enugu, Borno, and Ebonyi, for their exceptional performance. 
 
As recognition, the states were awarded two additional digital tablets and evidence-based reports.
 
The Borno State Commissioner for Education, Lawan Abba Wakilbe, who was away in southern Borno on official engagement, was represented at the NCE by the Chairman of the State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), Professor Bulama Kagu. 
 
Upon Wakilbe’s return, the commissioner was presented with the commendation and awards by Professor Kagu on Wednesday at the conference hall of the ministry of education at the Musa Usman Secretariat.
 
Wakilbe dedicated the commendation to the governor of Borno State, professor Babagana Umara Zulum, praising his commitment to strengthening Borno’s education sector and acknowledging the efforts of the ministry’s staff in aligning with the governor’s educational vision.
 
“I attribute all the success to the leadership of His Excellency, Professor Babagana Umara Zulum,” Wakilbe said. “He is the driver; we are the conductors and passengers. With a good driver, we will reach our destination.”
 
This recognition is expected to inspire the Ministry of Education, Science, Technology, and Innovation to further enhance its mandate and set a benchmark for educational excellence in Nigeria.
