We are building a party the will last in Yobe – NNPP Chairman

The Chairman of New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) Yobe state chapter, Alhaji Yakubu Shehu Damagum said what is going on in Yobe state right from inception of democratic dispensation is an additional circle of those who have been in leadership positions.

Alhaji Yakubu stated this while briefing the Newsmen on the plans of his new party in Yobe state.

“We have a lot of youths in Yobe state, what we are doing now as a party is to sensitize them about their future in our party. We will give both women and youths the opportunity to participate in the new openings under our party and we know that we will make a great party in Yobe state.” Said Yakubu Damagum.

According to him, by creating opportunities all parties will have more followership and thereby get the mandate of the people.

“We therefore mandated to create awareness and then we empower them. This is how we are moving now from where we are from nothing to something.” He said

He said when they started the New Nigeria People’s Party in Yobe state; he was the only one as others were watching from a distance to see what was unfolding. Today, we are on the lips of many and becoming a big party in the state.

He observed that most of our people in the party are younger generation and therefore have the strength to keep the party going for a longer time. “Most of the youths are from 35 years down and then women, which also make the greater part of our party.” He added.
