WHEN 265 STUDENTS TAKE OATH FOR MEWAR FIRST MATRICULATION

Mewar University of Nigeria had her first matriculation ceremony recently where 265 students took the matriculation oath at the senate building in the presence of the Vice Chancellor, officers of the university, parents and other members of the public who graced the occasion.     

The theme of this historical event bordered on discipline, hard work and obedience. The oath which read in parts “I will pay due respect and be obedient to the Vice Chancellor and other officers of the university. Observe all regulations which may from time to time be issued for good order and governance of the university”.   

Speaking during the occasion the Vice Chancellor Professor (Dr) Muhammad Israr charged the students to be good ambassador of Mewar International University and desist from any act that will tarnish the good name of the institution.

Abubakar Nasiru Salihu of Cyber Security department who spoke on experience in the university said that it is a new chapter in his life “the experience is wonderful”. While Amina Muhammad Abani of Biotechnology voiced her take on social co- existence where she said “Mewar is a place for co- existence between students from different socio- cultural and religious background should learn to live together and tolerate one another”. 

In his words, Philip Akinsola Akindolapo of Cyber Security who also spoke on drug abuse and dress code reminded his student colleagues to be careful and avoid drug abuse because it is the beginning of crime. On dress code, Philip called on students of Mewar “to be modest in their dressing to avoid indecent and un- necessary exposure of their body” he said.     

Mallam Muhammad Mustapha admission officer of the university told NEWSng that the 265 students are now officially on the record of Mewar University of Nigeria. “This is our first matriculation, and now they are bonafide students of this university with rights and privileges obtainable herein” he added.
