Yobe approved the retification on the ongoing construction of modern markets in Ngalda

Yobe State Executive Council meeting under the leadership of His Excellency, Governor Mai Mala Buni CON, has approved the retification on the ongoing construction of modern markets in Ngalda and Yunusari towns.
Yobe State Commissioner of Commerce, Tourism, and Industry, Alhaji Kaigama Umar, disclosed this while briefing the newsmen shortly after the state executive council meeting held at the Government House, Damaturu.
He said, in addition to this, the contract for the sesame seeds was awarded in the four major towns of Machina, Nguru, Potiskum, and Damaturu, adding that there is some work that was omitted, like the drainages and culverts, which will be difficult for lorries to maneuver during the lodding and offloading. His Excellency gave the approval, and we retified it.
Alhaji Umar assured that all the ongoing projects under the ministry of commerce will be completed, and His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Yobe State, Hon. Mai Mala Buni CON, will be commissioned in the first quarter of 2025.
Also briefing the journalists on the outcome of the State Executive Council meeting, the Commissioner of Works, Engr. Umar Wakil Duddaye, said the ministry of works is working with the ministry of agriculture to provide rural roads, which will help the agricultural reformation program.
The state executive council approved construction of roads from Fika to Maluri and then from Gashua to Masaba. It noted that these roads were already awarded, but due to constraints, the governor said we should revisit these projects because of their importance.
Engr. Duddaye maintained that Maluri in Fika local government area is an agricrarian area, and Masaba, a part from the rainy season, is also from Dumburi, Tabawa. There are a lot of villages that engage in irrigation programs, so today we reviewed these projects; they were approved by the executive council, and before the end of the year, these projects will be completed 100%, inshallah.
