Yobe: Chairperson Fika LGA Celebrates Governor Buni

The Chairperson, Fika Local Government Caretaker Management Committee, Hajiya Halima Kyari Joda (Alkaman Gudi) has commended the Yobe state governor, Mai Mala Buni for fulfilling all his campaign promises to the people by the provision of the dividend of democracy.
Halima said Yobe state is blessed with governor characterise with humility, sympathy, accessibility, and a genius in letting go of what rightfully and lawfully belongs to him, for peace to reign, adding that giving kodos to the governor become imperative because of his numerous achievements in improving the living condition of the masses in the state.
According to the Fika Chairperson, commendations as such is not only coming from members of the APC in the state but also from the opposition, who come to terms with the development strides of the Mai Mala Buni Administration in the last four years.
“Members of the opposition parties are praising him for executing the developmental projects both in rural and urban areas within the four years in office.
“Buni’s developmental projects is physically on ground. Buni’s administration is full of initiatives. The government has constructed modern markets in major towns across the state, in Damaturu, Potiskum , Gashua and Nguru. The government also constructed Trailer Park in Potiskum as well as resuscitated three dormant industries in the state. These are the Woven Sack company Damaturu, Yobe Sahel Aluminum and Flour and Feed Mill Company in Potiskum.” Halima Kyari said.
Speaking further she said, the Buni administration completed the state owned International Cargo Airport which was recently commissioned by President Muhammadu Buhari. She said all these achievements was to create conducive environment for trade and commerce for economic development of the state.
The Fika Chairperson maintained that, Mai Mala Buni administration also established six modern and seven Mega schools, procured books and laboratory equipment, employed more teachers and re-trained teachers in order to enhance and improve quality of education in the state. Adding that governor Buni also sponsored many students studying specialised courses abroad.
“The Buni administration also constructed numerous township and inter town roads to facilitate movement of goods and services and also provided women and youth empowerment initiated for self-employment, in addition constructed 1,800 housing units across the state and discount the units at 50 percent.
” Governor Mai Mala Buni has made a tremendous achievements in the health sector. Under four years he has constructed 138 Primary Healthcare centres in every electoral wards across the state and also upgraded over seven PHC to standard General Hospitals and four General Hospitals to specialists Hospitals to provide affordable and accessible Healthcare services for the people of Yobe state.
“There is no part of Yobe state without appreciable positive impact of Buni’s administration to better the lives of the people. He also constructed the largest Maternal and Child Health Care Complex at the State University Teaching Hospital which was recently commissioned by President Muhammadu Buhari.’
“This government is for youths, Buni fulfilled the promise he made to youths, because if you look at government appointment, he give many appointment to youths, many offices were occupied by the youths and also look at the appointment of SAs, about 65% of them are youths and all these he has done with a view to improve the lives of the youth in the state and also he provided women and youth empowerment initiatives for self employment.” She said
Halima Kyari also said that the governor having the youths at heart made these achievements with a view to create employment opportunities, generate wealth and ensure sustainable economic development as well as to boost the economic activities for the state.
She said, governor Mai Mala Buni has transforming agriculture from subsistence farming to commercial based agriculture through provision of inputs and implements and he also provide enough fertilizers and tractors to farmers,women and youth association in order to engage full into farming system.
Speaking of her achievements in Fika local government area, the Chairperson said, she has been following the footsteps of Governor Mai Mala Buni in improving the standard and quality of education. She revealed that the council has provided thousands copies of exercise books and distributed them to all primary schools across the local government.’

Halima Kyari said the council has been drilling new boreholes and repairing old boreholes generators. She said despite the heavy cost of diesel, the council has took the burden to ensure availability of the product to service the people’s needs. According to her, every month the council distributes enough of the product to power generators to all boreholes and health facilities across the local government. Adding that the council was also able construct culverts to ease water flow during the raining seasons.
“The council also purchased drugs worth millions of naira and distributed them to all our primary health centers across the local government and also repairs primary health centers” She added that, “All our request to the governor has been given approvals. Currently the council has constructed the Mai Mala Buni International Cattle Market in Ngalda and also we fencing the land where we shall soon re-locate other essential commodities and sellers there.”
She said, currently the local government has embarked on the construction of new Government Lodge in Fika, the headquarters of the council with the support of Governor Mai Mala Buni.
While speaking politics and the coming general elections in the country, Halima Kyari appealed to the people of Fika local government to show an equal support to the Mai Mala Buni administration by coming out en-mass to vote for Governor Mai Mala Buni and all others APC candidates in 2023 general elections.
