Yobe: Head Teacher Arikime Primary School Debunks Rumour Over Online Publication

The head master Arkime primary school, Malam Muhammad Sani has debunked report by an online media alledging that the school lacks adequate teachers to handle the number of students, which the report quoted the number of students standing at over 18,000 with only 41 teachers and less than 100 latrines and classrooms for the use in the school.
The head teacher, who spoke in an interview with NEWSng said contrary to the numbers quoted by CITIZEN REPORT, the school, a public school in Potiskum, which is the largest has 19,923 students in its register.
According to Malam Muhammad Sani the school has 212 teachers, 107 toilets and 2 bore holes which are all functional. He gave the breakdown of teachers as 48 permanent staff, 68 Volunteer teachers and 96 Npower staff.
“The Online newspaper reported that the school has only 41 teachers, 98 latrines and 2 bore holes are no longer functioning. The newspaper also reported that most of the classroom are empty due to the lack of adequate teachers, but all that is not true as this is only the imagination of the reporter.” The head master said. “What the Online newspaper reported is not true,. It was melicious fabrication and should be ignored.” He added.
On contrary, Mallam Muhammed Sani said that, Arkime primary school has 126 classrooms and all the classes are occupied by the students.
The head master also used the occasion to command Governor Mai Mala Buni and the Chairman SUBEB, Professor Musa Alabi for their effort in the construction of an extended model school around Government Science Secondary School to expand Arkime primary school to reduce the congestion.
