Yobe: Over 300 shops burnt in Nguru Market

People of the ancient town of Nguru town of Yobe State was thrown into pandemonium in the early hours of Saturday – as a result of the fire outbreak that burned down over three hundred shops belonging to traders and marketers that specializes in buying and selling within the vicinity of the main market of Nguru town.

Big time traders and marketers  as well as small ones continue to count their losses to the fire perdition.

Alhaji Usman Ali told NEWSng on Sunday that he lost everything to the fire.

“Everything I have worked for is no more. But I thank God, no loss of life. I pray that the government  will come to our aid because the losses are too many for traders and marketers. ” He said

He said going by the usual practices by the traders and marketers in the market they normally restock their shops on Fridays after receiving a load of their goods that arrives at the town via rail line from Kano. 

Adding that, marketers and traders have lost millions of Naira to the fire incident as most of the shops were stocking goods.
