The Acting Chairman of Road Transport Employers Association of Nigeria (RTEAN) Yobe state chapter, Hon. Abdullahi Sani has urged leaders’ to do justice to the people they served so as to have a better society.

Sani said, doing justice to people they served as leaders is the only sure way to please God, who positions them as leaders, adding that whoever desires God’s blessing must serve with justice.

“God will help us and let us know that there is a day of judgement because whatever you do Almighty Allah will ask you to account for it.

“Our National President, Alhaji Musa Muhammed Mai Takwabi caution us to take care of passengers in anywhere they are in Nigeria, because if there is no passengers there will be no station.” He said.

Hon Sani, who is currently a counselor in Potiskum local government council maintained that it is necessary for every leader to do justice to his people, his family and even to the people supposedly not close to him.

Speaking on the high cost of transportation, he said, “We are trying our best to see that we don’t increase the amount of transportation unless we see that the price of the fuel pump will not come down to normal.

“I assure you that since the price of fuel went up, we only increased 200 – 300 naira on each passenger from Potiskum to Bauchi. That is from #1,300 before to now #1,500.  Potiskum to Jos before #2,000 now is #2,500.  Potiskum to Kano before is #1,700 now is #2,000.” Sani said.

Sani also said that they paid a courtesy call to the Governor of Yobe state, Hon. Mai Mala Buni on the current fuel situation where they discuss how the government may support the road transport workers in order to maintain transport fare for the teeming masses in the state.

According to him, the governor, who urged us to always assist the masses, also promised to help the state have the commodity in abundance so as to reduce the hardship the masses are facing.
