Yobe State Police Command Achieves Significant Successes in 2024, CP Lauds Personnel Strides

The Command is proud to announce its remarkable achievements in maintaining law and order throughout the state in 2024. This milestone is a testament to the Command’s unwavering commitment to ensuring the safety and security of all residents.

During the period under review, a significant decrease in crimes, including armed robbery, kidnapping, and homicide, was recorded. Successful investigations and prosecutions of 454 cases were successfully investigated and prosecuted, with 116 cases still under investigation.

In furtherance to its crime preventive strategies and protection of vulnerable groups, measures were implemented to protect women and children from harm, resulting in a decrease in sexual-related offences. Similarly, 17 cases of unnatural offences were recorded and are being thoroughly investigated and prosecuted.

Consequently, a massive reduction in minor crimes, such as theft, burglary, cheating, and farmer/herder conflicts, was also achieved.

The Commissioner of Police, CP Garba Ahmed, emphasized that the Command remains committed to ensuring the safety and security of all residents across the state. This commitment is reflected in the Command’s efforts to sustain its successes and build on its achievements in the coming year.

The Command acknowledges the collaboration and cooperation of the members of the public and enjoins them to continue with the efforts as the Command assures its working relationship to sustain the tempo while forging ahead to a new year.
