Yobe State University Governing Council Visit Project Sites

The Chairman of the Yobe State University Governing Council, Alhaji Ahmed Mustapha Goniri, Esq., led the Council and University Management on a supervision tour of ongoing projects during its 41st meeting. The aim was to assess the progress of work for the immediate utilization of the buildings, in response to the growing student population and the establishment of new departments, to ensure the smooth running of academic activities on campus.

The projects visited included a female hostel funded by tetfund , the BioRTC (Mega Laboratory) funded by Yobe State Government and new departments such as Geology, Microbiology, and Animal Science. Other notable projects include the Faculty of Arts & Education, Social and Management Sciences buildings, a twin lecture theatre, and the Physiotherapy Department, funded by TETFund through special intervention (high-impact) projects.

Alhaji Ahmed Mustapha Goniri expressed satisfaction with the quality of work and urged the contractors to maintain high standards, emphasizing that the buildings would serve future generations of students.

the Commissioner of Higher Education, Prof. Bello Kawuwa, also commented, reiterating the importance of delivering high-quality work within the agreed timeframe to ensure timely handover and utilization.

The Council Chairman was accompanied by external and internal members of the Council, the Vice Chancellor of Yobe State University, Prof. Mala M. Daura, the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Central Administration), Dr Bukar Jamri, the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academic Services), Dr Mohammed Musa Lawan, the Registrar, Dr Kalli Alkali Yusuf Gazali, the Director of Works, Engr. Hassan Baba Daya, and other directors of the university.
