Yobe to build 5000 units of two-bedroom in 7 Local Government Areas

The Yobe State government has secured land for the building of five thousand (5000) units of two bedroom flats in seven local government areas of the state.

The project is to be taken by the World Nations Development Programme (WNDP).

The Director of Administration Azuba Nigeria Limited, Alhaji Usman Maina Kaina disclosed this to newsmen shortly after showing them the approved land by the Director-General Yobe State Geographic Information System (YOGIS) in Damaturu.

He said, World Nations Development Programme (WNDP) in Collaboration with Africa Nations Development Programme (ANDP), with regard to a letter issued to us a few months ago concerning the building of 5000 units of 2 bedrooms housing in Yobe state.

Kaina said, “Governor Mai Mala Buni has assured us that we will be giving land to build these houses despite the houses being splitted into 7 seven local government areas of the state.

“The seven local government areas are, Gujba local government 500, Damaturu local government 1000, Gaidam local government 500, Bade local government 750, Nguru local government 750, Fune local government 500 and Potiskum local government 1000 units of two bedroom flats.

“Yobe State government under the leadership of His Excellency Governor Mai Mala Buni through the office of the Director- General Yobe State Geographic Information System (YOGIS) secured this land and handed it over to us and we were given approval for the side plan a few weeks ago.

“We were given 70 hectares in Damaturu, that is to say we are starting with Damaturu for now and will comprises of this facilities of Hospital, Mosque, Modern market, Road network and the 1000 units of two bedrooms flats.” He said.

Alhaji Usman Maina Kaina revealed that the building will commence in three weeks.
