Yobe: Village Head of Kukar Kadu Commends Emir of Fika
By: Yahaya WakiliThe village head of Kukar Gadu in Goya District of Fika Emirate Council, Yobe state, Alhaji Dahiru Hassan has commended the Emir of Fika and Chairman Yobe state council of Chiefs, Alhaji (Dr) Muhammadu Abali Ibn Muhammadu Idrissa CFR, CON for the numerous assistances rendered to him since he was appointed as a village head of Kukar Gadu.
Speaking to NEWSng, Hassan said, “i don’t have anything to say on the Emir rather than thank you because, the Emir of Fika is a father and at the sometime he is my mentor.
Alhaji Dahiru Hassan made the commendation in an interview with NEWSng in Kukar Gadu the headquarters of the place.

“Because at any giving time if i want to see him, i can see him and he will receive me with laugh, chatting so definitly i can say thing more than thank you to the Emir of Fika.” Dahiru Hassan added.
According to him, the royal father has already seen what is happening. “They work together with my late father and he understand me. He gives me this position of village head because my father is a traditional ruler so i inherited from my late father.
“If i am the President i will give the Emir of Fika GCON because the emir is a humble person. If you invite him for occasion and you said it is going to hold at 10 o’clock, definitely you will see him by that time and always the emir give much dedication to Nigerian government than his family.

“I believe he hardly completed a month in Potiskum always he is on national assignment and he performed it excellently, so i commend the president for giving him that award of CFR, because Mr President has already seen the best person.
“We thanked God, we have been trying our best because someone cannot praised himself but from inception of my tenure we have received a lot of food items and building materials from SEMA because during the raining season many houses were washed by the rain.” He said
He also called on the Emir of Fika to advocate for Kukar Gadu on the areas of drainages and road network especially the federal road which lacks shoulders and often become issues for travellers.

Police rescue 10 abducted commuters in Kogi

Security forces have rescued 10 abducted commuters along the Ochadamu–Anyigba Road in Ofu Local Government Area.
It will be recalled that the victims were kidnapped on Aug. 11 near Ugbakpedo village, prompting a rescue mission by police operatives, vigilantes, and local hunters.
“On Aug. 13, at about 4:30 a.m., during an intensive bush combing operation supported with the use of tear gas, the abductors abandoned the victims and fled.
“All 10 victims were rescued unharmed and have since been reunited with their families,” said the sources.
Security sources said intelligence gathering, surveillance, and further bush combing were ongoing to track and arrest the fleeing suspects.

Police arrest journalist in Ogun for alleged possession of live ammunition

The police in Ogun have arrested a journalist for alleged unlawful possession of a live AK-47 ammunition.
Sources who confirmed the incident on Wednesday said that the suspect, identified as Emmanuel Chidi Maha, 30, works with The Nation newspaper in Lagos.
“Maha was arrested at about 6:30 p.m. on Aug. 13 by a team of anti-robbery operatives led by ASP Wahab Ayinla.
“He was intercepted while driving a blue Toyota Corolla with registration number LAGOS JJJ 43 DY, which had tinted glasses. A live AK-47 bullet was found inside the vehicle,” said the sources.
The sources added that the suspect, along with his vehicle, was taken to the police station.
The sources said discreet investigation is ongoing.

Bandit kill farmer, injure two others in Plateau

Suspected bandits have killed a 55-year-old farmer in Riyom Local Government Area of Plateau state.
Security sources told Zagazola Makama that the incident occurred on Tuesday at Gwom Rim village at about 7:45 a.m.
It was gathered that the victim, Stephen Maigadi Jatau, was shot dead on his farm by unknown assailants.
It added that two other men, Josiah Davholu, and Davou Sunday, who rushed to rescue the farmer after hearing gunshots, were also shot and injured.
The Nigerian Army troops with other joint security team stormed the scene
“The injured were taken to General Hospital, Sambak, for treatment, while the corpse was released to the family for burial after an autopsy was declined.
