Youths Association calls on Buni to construct road from Fika to Maluri in Yobe

Maluri Youth Development Association (MYDA) in Fika local government area of Yobe state has appealed to Governor Mai Mala Buni to come their aids to construct the 22km road from Fika to Maluri.

The National Chairman of the Association, Malam Isa Adamu Mai Lafiya Maluri made the appeal in an interview with Newsmen in Damaturu.

He said over 43 communities were benefitting with the road and as a result of the bad condition of the road people were died especially pregnant women during the rain season and our concern is the life of our people.

“The two kilometers clear has damage the road because as of now during this rain season vehicle cannot able to enter Maluri and other villages if they didn’t put sand on the two kilometers clear, infact we don’t know how we can do to reach out our town.” Isa Adamu said.

Malam Isa Adamu Mai Lafiya further said since they bring two tippers and one grader and cleared about two kilometers from Fika to Dogon Laka they abandoned the work and left it, therefore, we are appealing to His Excellency Governor Mai Mala Buni to come to our aids by calling on the company handling the project to resume work immediately.

According to him, last year we officials of MYDA and the members of the communities we contribute some amount we work on the road and people enjoy it and appreciate it and even this year we intend to continue with the job because we have our money on ground.

“But the unfortunate things our traditional leaders tell us to be patient His Excellency has promise us he will do the work so we continue waiting up to now, i am telling you now if this work has not been done the two kilometers they cleared will not allowed us to come out from Maluri especially during the rain season.

“I was born in Maluri and i am about 43 years old now and i am staying with my family there, so i have no place to go i have to spend my life there.” The national chairman said.

Malam Mai Lafiya maintained that we officials of the MYDA we are always crying out and try our best to see that this road was constructed because we are bringing all our farm products to Ngalda and Potiskum markets from the road.
