Youths contributes N2.1 million to repair road in Yobe

Over two 2.1million naira was realized at the launching of a N12 million appeal fund for the construction of some critical points at Maluri to Fika road.

The appeal fund was organized by the Maluri Youth Development Association (MYDA) at Maluri town aimed at construction, rehabilitation and repairs of the 20 kilometers road from Fika to Maluri.

Speaking at the occasion, the Chief launcher, the President of Arewa Traders Association, Alhaji Muhammed Ibrahim – 86 said the appeal fund has become imperative because of the bad condition of the road.

He said “seventy percent of the problems of Maluri is lack of  road and our civil servants, our politicians and our business men are running away from Maluri due to lack of the road. They are not staying in Maluri.

“So everybody is running away from the town and how do you expect the town to develop? Our parents died with this road in their minds and tried to make it motorable without getting any assistance. We would not allow our children to say the same about us.” Alhaji Ibrahim said.

He appealed to the Federal Government and Yobe State Government as well as Maluri stakeholders and its environs to help in constructing the 20 kilometers road from Maluri to Fika to cushion the hardship which the people are facing in the area as a result of the road condition.

Alhaji Muhammed Ibrahim  maintained that “we can’t get development in Maluri unless they get roads” and urged the youth to continue struggling until Maluri gets roads, adding that, if they get roads 70% of Maluri’s problem will be solved.

Ibrahim  urged all Maluri indigens those who are staying outside the town to let them come and build houses in Maluri to develop the town, noted that look at the southern people no matter how the position they held in everywhere they will come and build houses in their village.

He called on the district head of Maluri to draw the attention of our youth, our civil servants and our business moguls everywhere in Nigeria or even abroad to come and build houses in Maluri to develop the town.

Alhaji Muhammed Ibrahim commended the youths  for making this effort to create Maluri Youth Development Association (MYDA) to develop the town, adding that a part from Fika not any town like Maluri in Fika local government area.
