Zulum Appoints Prof. Yakubu Musa New Executive Chairman Borno State Hajj Commission

Borno State Governor, Professor Babagana Zulum has approved the appointment of Professor Yakubu Musa as the new Executive Chairman of Borno State Hajj Commission.

In a statement by the Special Adviser on Media and spokesperson to the Governor, Dauda Iliya, Professor Musa will take over from Alhaji Mohammed Dawule Mainok.

A distinguished scholar and administrator, Prof. Yakubu Musa hails from Shani Local Government Area of the state.

Prior to this appointment, he served as the Director of the International Institute for Qur’anic Sciences at Khalifa Isyaku Rabiu University, Kano.

A Professor of Arabic Studies, he has also served as member, Borno State Arabic and Sangaya Education Board.

Throughout his career, Professor Musa has held numerous academic and administrative leadership roles both within and outside the university system.

Meanwhile, Governor Babagana Zulum has expressed gratitude to the outgoing Executive Chairman, Alhaji Mohammed Dawule Mainok, for his dedicated service to the state and directed to report to the Office of the Head of Service as Permanent Secretary.

The appointment of Prof. Yakubu Yunusa Musa is subject to confirmation by the Borno State House of Assembly.
