A broadcast journalist Usman Sahabi has been abducted by a group of bandits inside Yola, the state capital.
Usman a staff of the Adamawa Broadcasting Corporation on secondment as the Chief of Staff to the Speaker House of Assembly, was kidnapped from his “Wuro Chekke” home at after 1 am on Friday and dragged to some unknown destination.
Impeccable sources close to the Nigerian union of journalists (NUJ) revealed that about five bandits were spotted in the dark firing in the air before entering Usman’s home to abduct him to an unknown destination in the wee hours of Friday.
Responding to the matter however, chair of the NUJ, Ishaka Dedan told this reporter that the police are on top of the Situation adding that details of some security situations are not revealed but his colleagues will soon be freed.
Spokesman of the Adamawa police command Suleiman Nguroje, who spoke to newsmen about their colleague assured that all operational assets have been deployed to ensure the safe rescue and return of the journalist.
He assured further that the police was determined to bring him back unharmed adding that family members and the public should remain calm for the security network in the state to conclude it’s task.

At least four people were killed and three others injured when armed bandits attacked Baidi village, a remote hamlet in Tangaza Local Government Area (LGA) of Sokoto State, sources confirmed.
The incident occurred around 9:30 p.m. Thursday , when a large group of Lakurwa bandits, reportedly armed with sophisticated weapons, stormed the village, located along the border with the Niger Republic. Communication blackout in the area delayed immediate reporting of the attack.
Troops of Operation FANSAN YANMA, Police units and the Sokoto Community Guard Corps were mobilized to the scene. The bodies and injured victims were evacuated to a hospital for autopsy and medical treatment.
Security forces are currently combing the area to track and apprehend the perpetrators, while confidence-building patrols continue to reassure residents and prevent further attacks.

An Indian expatriate, Renjith Pillai, 42, has been rescued unharmed after being kidnapped at Aqua Triton Company in Ogunmakin Village, Idi-Ayunre, Ibadan, Oyo State, police sources confirmed.
The victim, whose abduction was first reported on Jan. 17, 2026, regained his freedom on Thursday evening around 6:30 p.m., according to a report from the Commander of Idi-Ayunre division.
He was reunited with his family following his release.
Police said a joint team of the police and strategic partners is currently pursuing the kidnappers, who remain at large.
Investigation into the incident is ongoing to ensure the perpetrators are apprehended and brought to justice.

Three vigilante members have been fatally shot during an attack by suspected armed bandits at Kauran Pawa Mahuta C Village in Dandume Local Government Area of Katsina State.
The incident occurred in the early hours of Wednesday at about 12:24 a.m. when the assailants invaded the community. Joint patrol teams comprising the police, military, and C-Watch engaged the bandits in a sustained gunfight, forcing them to flee.
The victims, identified as Yahaya Saadu, 37; Yahaya Yahaya, 33; and Mika Musa, 43, all residents of Mahuta C Village, were immediately taken to the General Hospital, Dandume, where they were confirmed dead by medical personnel.
Authorities have assured that efforts are ongoing to track and apprehend the perpetrators, while the joint security teams continue to patrol the area to prevent further attacks.
